Notes From December 18, 2007, Meeting. 

Prudential Snook Realtors, Cameron

Mark Garges called the meeting to order.

Event Committee Report

  • Natalie wasn’t able to attend but reports that everything is on track.
  • Deb ordered additional beads (500 with GNW Medallion) at a cost of $232.24.
  • The booth set up time has been changed to 3:30 p.m.

Budget-Deb Powers

  • Deb Powers reported that the only expenses thus far have been the purchase of beads and updates to the website.
  • There has been $7100 collected in corporate sponsorships and $10,850 has been pledged.
  • There are 12 people registered for the event.
  • There has been $7600 in community sponsorships. $21,000 has been budgeted. Daviess County and Carroll County will not be participating this year.

Band-Deb Powers

Deb Powers reported that the Mudbugs will not be able to attend this year, but she has hired Blue Orleans. They are less expensive than the Mudbugs so she contacted CB&T, the band sponsor, and they agreed to put the remainder of their sponsorship toward the band’s rooms.

Marketing/PR-Lisa Luke

  • Lisa Luke reported that gloves have been provided by MW Gloves. The gloves can’t be embroidered so they will be put in a mug with beads and a card with the issues.
  • The Calendars aren’t complete, but Kathy Morgan reports that the Leadership NW committee believes that they will be done in time to be used. The price of the calendars has increased. Lisa asked the group what GNW Day should pay. The group agreed that the budget should be maxed out.
  • Lisa reported that the issues release is behind due to the issues not being decided.
  • She reported that her committee is lacking luncheon and group tour info.

Issues-Shellby Hendee

  • Shellby reviewed the issues. The group voted to accept wastewater, the SRF section with changes, the ED with additions by MEDC, strike transportation and accept prevailing wages.
  • The group discussed the luncheon. There will be a panel of generalists and Ray McCarty will moderate.
  • Shellby asked for attendees for the evening meal.
  • Shellby is organizing the introductions in the house and senate with the legislative liaisons.

Deb cautioned that the block of rooms will be released on Jan. 5.

The meeting then adjourned.
